Thelma I. Bunton

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Thelma I. Bunton, 89, Gadsden, who died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008. The Rev. James Moore will officiate. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory is directing.

Mrs. Bunton was a member of East Walnut Baptist Church. Thelma was a very loving and dear mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laban D. and Kate Chambers Rasco; brothers, Otis, Ivan, Darius, Roland, Eulas and Wilbur Rasco; and sisters, Freda Gwin, Ruth Lee and Paula Durham.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Dona) Bunton, Rainbow City, and Paul R. (Lizz) Bunton Jr., Gadsden; daughters, Robbie Elliott and Barbara Slaton, both of Glencoe; sister, Bertie Lynd, Talladega; brother, Terry Rasco, Altus, Okla.; grandchildren, Tina Elliott and Wes Elliott, both of Glencoe, Sloan Bunton, Southside, Brent Bunton, Gadsden, and Brook Slaton, Glencoe; step-grandchildren, Mark Cromer, Washington, Ill., Chloe Cromer, Section, Cherice Cromer, Gulf Shores, Jennifer Williamson, Phenix City, and B.J. Crosby, Petal, Miss.; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ivan Rasco, Tracy Rasco, Wes Elliott, Brent Bunton, Paul R. Bunton Jr. and Zac Duncan.
