I remember Mr. Theodore R. Thomas, Sr., as one of the few black motorcycle officers with the Metropolitan Police Department during my childhood. Occasionally seeing Officer Thomas ride his police motorcycle up Georgia Avenue, NW, in the nation's capital was a source of great pride for my brother and myself.
