Mr. Theodore M. White Sr., "Theodore Rose," of 20720 Boydton Plank Road, McKenney, Va., passed away Monday, July 3, 2009, at the Hopewell Health Care Center.

He was the son of the late Jennie Mae White Robinson and Bossie Rose. He was born on March 12, 1944, in Dinwiddie County, Va. He attended Sussex and Dinwiddie County School Systems. He joined the Rocky Mount Baptist Church, McKenney, at an early age. He was retired from Brenco Inc., with 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son, Cpl. Theodore M. White Jr., and a brother, John Leonard Rose.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted children, Reginald J. White; daughters, Theresa Coles (James), Phyllis J. Chavis (Jerry) and Doris Thorpe; a very devoted ex-wife, Queen T.W. Brown; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Marie Thorpe; devoted brothers and sisters, James C. White (Carl Rose), John M. Robinson (Gail), retired Staff Sgt. James M. Robinson (Carolin) and Sherman Robinson; sisters, Carrie B. White, Gloria R. Bradshaw (James), Alma Robinson and Viola Dawkins; one godbrother, Leroy Procise "JAP" (Viola); and one godsister, Sue Marks (Willie); two aunts, Bertha Boisseau and Volia Procise; seven sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law; a devoted friend and co-workers, Charlie Griffin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends.

A homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church, McKenney, with the Rev. Dr. Herbert W. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Thursday at the funeral home. The family may be reached by calling his daughter, Phyllis, 605-0139; his son, Reggie, 919-0808; and his sister, Alma, 478-4542. The family will receive friends at the residence of his sister, Alma Robinson, 12110 Lew Jones, Dewitt, Va.
