Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Sioux Falls Obituary

Thomas Harvey Breems was welcomed into the loving arms of his Father on April 18, 2016. He was the beloved only son of Harvey and Dorothy Breems, the proud father of Andell Bartelt, Bailey Breems, and Nick Hartman, the adored little brother of Vonna Marcus and Sue Ann Breems Tiers, the doting grandpa of Stetson Bartelt, and the love and betrothed of Jacque Stauffer . He is also survived by son-in-law Darwin Bartelt, daughter-in-law Tiffany Hartman and granddaughter Autumn, his brothers-in-law Tim Marcus and David Tiers the mother of his daughters, Doreen Anglin (Wubben), and Jacque's sons Kyle and Riley. Tom was born May 1, 1966 and grew up in Prinsburg, Minnesota where he attended Central Minnesota Christian School. He graduated from Trinity College in Chicago and moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he worked in banking. Tom loved to be with family, laugh, hang out with his many friends and hunt. He laughed and played card games better than anyone. He had a special fondness for hanging out with any family member, fostered by his early second home with his Great Aunt Minnie and Uncle Everett when he would wander away as a little boy he would always be found next door sitting at the table with them. He was generous and giving, from going up to strangers who looked like they needed help to making blankets for Children's Inn. He loved to mentor young colleagues and was known for his fairness and integrity. Tom had a strong and

sustaining faith which informed all of his life. Tom lived fully and joyously until he was struck by the terrible illness of depression. Despite the support of professionals and family, he could not find his way through his suffering and sadness. He took his life and rejoins his earthly and heavenly fathers in heaven. He will be forever loved and missed by all of those of us who were privileged to have known him and loved him.

His visitation will be Thursday April 21 from 6-8 PM at Heritage Funeral Home, 4800 S. Minnesota Ave. Sioux Falls, SD.
