Not sure what to say?

I only knew Tom briefly, but he is one of those rare people who you don't have to know long to like and to know well. We had a wonderful interaction during his visit to my lab in Wyoming. This included an after-work drive in the Wyoming foothills during which Tom was elated by the simple pleasure of spotting a moose in the marshland on the side of the road. It is a fond memory for me, as it seemed to reflect his essential happiness as a human being. Tom lived well and conducted his business...

I am so saddened by Tom's passing. He has one of the most compassionate guys I have met. He had such a heart for animals and people. I new he would hit it off with my dad and introduced them to each other and I was right they hit it off. I don't know 2 guys that love cars especially Fords more. Tom helped out with several pet issues. 1 very serious and rare (puppy stomach folded). Tom was so helpful and compassionate. Tom has helped me with business advice the past several years (we...

I met Tom along with Joe Denhart at Texas A&M on a visit during late January of 2006 to evaluate some potential technology in which Lloyds had an interest in pursuing. It was early spring or late winter down south depending on your temperature tolerance. As Tom mentioned, "this is an early summer day for us in Nebraska." The day was spent with Tom from sunrise to sunset as well as part of the next day. We took a walking tour of the Texas A&M Campus with great weather and good conversation....

Tom and I were fellow students in the veterinary class of 1988 at Iowa State University. Life took him on various paths of endeavor, achieving a veterinary internship, a residency in veterinary surgery, a law degree and a master's degree in business. He was prepared to offer so much to the profession, but was taken from us far too soon. I will always remember fondly our car journeys from Ames to Omaha and back to school, usually in the wee morning hours, likely with minimal...

Tom was a gentleman, kind and considerate. May his soul rest in peace.

Tom was a friend and colleague who helped to make law school life more than tolerable. He helped to give life meaning and measure. To those who loved and were loved by Tom, my deepest sympathies.

Please accept my condolences. Tom was a 3rd year resident at Iowa State the year I started working as an anesthesia technician there. He was a great guy and a great friend, who made a scary 1st year for me seem survivable.

I can't say enough about Dr. Carlson. I was fortuate to work with him at Rohrig Animal Hospital when he was the overnight Vet. At the time, he was in Law School, and I'm sure, very overworked, but no matter how many animal emergencies we had, he was always patient and kind to me, even at 3:00am. He later became my teacher of Law and Ethics, and not only was he a great teacher, but I admired his thirst for knowledge. I was always impressed with his memory, also. It could be years since we...

Know of Tom only through a mutual friend and wanted to pass along our deepest condolences with thoughts and prayers to the entire Carlson family.
