DOHERTY FUNERAL SERVICE Obituary

Thomas J. Carmody--73, Of Reading and Ogunquit, ME, formerly of Cambridge died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 30, 2012.

Thomas was the beloved husband of Catherine Elizabeth(Hill) and the Cherished son of the late Rose(Guidicianni) and Thomas Carmody. He was the devoted father of Kimberly Ann Stevens and her husband Dale of FL, Ashley Catherine Cullen and her husband Timothy of Wakefield, Chelsey Paige Carmody of Reading, and the late Joseph Carmody. Thomas was also the dear grandfather of Joseph, Jamie, and Jack Stevens.

Calling Hours will be held at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, 4-8 pm. Family and friends invited. A Funeral Mass will take place in St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn St. in Reading on Wednesday Morning, September 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment is private.

Before his retirement, Tom had a long career as a Manufacturers Representative for Compass Technology and Milgray Electronics. He was a true family man who loved spending time with his wife and all of his children and grandchildren. He was a talented cook and especially enjoyed the holidays. He spent his Summers in Maine and was a member of Ogunquit Main Beach Club at the Point.

Tom: I found out today of your passing,from one of your dearest friends who's team just one the world series. Tom, you were a big champion for me in my life and gave me THE start in my career. I still use everything you taught me today. I have never forgotten you and never will. God bless you Tom and the entire Family. PS.You could always get tickets for any sold out Boston Sporting event..simply amazing !

I was at Tom's funeral Mass and was touched by the wonderful family and friends in attendance. Toms self eulogy was inspiring and something to remember. Although you don't know me, I was a friend with Tom for 30 years in the electronic business and respected him greatly. As we get older memories of the past prevail and you indeed have an abundance. Tommy was an extremely generous, affable and kind hearted man. He had the unique ability to lighten the moment with his great sense of humor. He was an incredibly unique individual and he will truly be missed. Looking back, I cherish my ten years working for Tommy at Compass Technology. To Tom's family,
I am very sad to hear of Tom's passing. He was a great guy and always so good to me when I was at Mercury Computer and also NEC so many years ago. I have many fond memories of Tom and he always had such love for his family.
