I was sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Corcoran. He was a good friend of my dad and helped my mom with finances and the sale of my father's business after he died. He also got me a great summer job for two summers working at the Chicago Board of Education. The Mullen family will keep Mr. Corcoran in our prayers.

Tom will be sorely missed by the family of tennis players and friends at Waveland. Seems like it was just yesterday we had a doubles game going.

Gracious Lord, We come needing your strength in the weak areas of our lives. May our fragile spirit be made strong through your healing power. So shape us, surely, subtlely and sweetly in your Spriit through your grace, peace and mercy. Amen
We will Truly miss our fallen "Tennis Friend" Tom, at the Wavlenad Tennis Courts.

Rita, Theresa, Tom, Brian and The Corcoran Family ... thank you very much for allowing me and so many others to join you, truly as family, in remembering Tom today and yesterday. I've always wanted to live like a Tom Corcoran, with passion, fairness, friends and fun. I'm going to re-resolve to do that. I realize now my good fortune in meeting and working with Tom for six years at the Board of Ed, and I really regret not sticking with golf rounds at Waveland, my favorite city course, where I probably could have enjoyed Tom's company, and continued to learn from him.

Tom was my best friend and golfing buddy. I hope that he counted me among his closest friends. He loved his family, his work, his retirement, and never waned in his mission to help all those with whom he came in touch. I will miss him always.

Mr. Corcoran was a great man and leaves behind a great legacy.
He was also a great uncle. He was my uncle and he will be missed terribly by a huge family, very much trying to cope with this sudden and unconceiveable loss.
My favorite of many memories was at six or seven years old when Uncle Tom insisted the training wheels come off the bike. He ran up and down Newland Ave. with me until I got it right!
I will miss his strong influence in my life and suddenly feel six years old again.
I won't be at all surprised if wars start ending and epidemics cease. Somewhere, you know he's negotiating.

Tom was a valued friend, advisor, and confidant to me (and to many, many others) when we both worked at the Chicago Board of Education. His contributions to the Board, its members, Superintendents, the organization as a whole, and the City were not widely known to the public, but were significant and profound. Tom was the consummate behind-the-scenes manager. He will be missed by many - my deepest sympathies to his family on his untimely passing.
