I know that this is quite a few years after Strat passed away, but I feel compelled to offer my condolences to the family. As very young "detail man" in East Texas working for Savage Laboratories, Strat Cyrus took me under his wing and taught me the ins and outs of calling on physicians in the Northeast Texas area. He was nothing but PROFESSIONAL. I will always appreciate his direction and advice as it led me to a 30 year career with Johnson & Johnson. I regret that I could not see him one more time and tell him how much I appreciated his counsel...

I just heard today, Thursday, Oct 22, that your dad had passed away. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember so many of our high school days with your mom and dad. It would be so good to hear from you and Jenny. Again, I remember your parents with very fond memories. Love to you and Jenny. Bob Rowland

I grew up four blocks from Mr. Stratton's (Thomas Sratton Cyrus I) drug store in Fort Worth and knew Strat even though he was a bit older than me. We went into the Army together in Sept. of 1944. When we left the reception center we were sent to different camps so I did not see Strat again. One thing I always remembered about the reception center (Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio) was that one day Strat had pots and pans detail on KP. He got up at 4:00AM and didn't get back to our tent (that's where we lived, six men to a tent) until 10:00PM. There was no air conditioning in the mess hall and it was so hot that he lost eight pounds that day. Ironically, I started about six months ago to find him and all I could get was Oklaoma City. Now, it's too late. Don't ever wait that long to contact old friends. My deepest sympathy to the Cyrus family and God bless.
