Not sure what to say?

Mr. Diffley made an amazing (and lasting) impact on his students. Just last week I was telling someone a story about his teaching methods and my experience as a student in his classroom. That was 45 years ago. Still talking about him. Sad that he's been gone 9 years. That said, he's in Eternal Spirit and hopefully loving it!

Condolences to the Diffley family. You surely know that anyone who went to St. John's events in the 1960's or worked at Glacier at St. Mary's in those same years, when Tom was there and singing away, realize that even those who know him most from then, found grand appreciation for him. My husband and I attended the 40 year Anniversary for those who worked at St. Mary's in Glacier and even my husband remembers your husband, father and grandfather's liveliness.
Prayerfully,
Mary Pat Ferron...

Mr. Diffley was my favorite high school teacher (and the favorite of many). Sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences to the family.

My wife (who never met him) and I still quote him, "Word-pow-pow-POWER!"

His memory lives on through his students, friends and family.

Dear Kathy, 7-14-16

After the initial shock of hearing of Tom's passing, I realized that Tom's love of life and literature did not pass away. They are spread like the gospel seed into his family, friends and students --and then to their descendants.

I still tell my friends about him, years after he'd entertain me with his hilarious original stories of The Quister and Johnny Rivers Chokes in...

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of " MR Diffley". I haven't heard the name in over 30 years. I'm a 1984 graduate of Irondale H.S. My wife is a 1982 graduate of Irondale. I don't recall if he was one of my teachers, but I'd heard his name many times around the school. From what I do recall, he was well liked. I'm sorry to hear his name again under the circumstances. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. God bless... John and Brenda Sullivan.

Kathy & Family: We were so sorry to hear about Tom's passing.. what a wonderful person he was; caring, generous and fun loving.. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time..

Tom and family, so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. May your family take consolation in that he is now celebrating in a finer place that we and he can only imagine. Rest in Peace. Brett Hildreth

So saddened to learn of Mr. Diffley's passing. He was my teacher during my senior year (1969-'70) at LaCrescent High School. He was an excellent teacher and had a very caring person with a keen interest in his students and their plans for the future. The following year, I left to attend the University of Minnesota as a Journalism Major after spending the summer of 1970 with a part-time job in Advertising Sales at the Houston County News. Although I have not seen him since the early 1970's...
