DISSE, Thomas M., 91, of Mineral, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was born in Richmond, Va., the son of Carrie Foster of Atlee, Va. and Theodore Robert Disse of Glen Allen, Va. Mr. Disse is survived by his children, Tommy and wife, Suzanne, Cathy, Robin and his wife, Sharon, and Kevin; as well as his six grandchildren, Heather, Bonnie, Scott, Jennifer, Kira and Mark; and seven great- grandchildren, Cole, Lauren, Adam, Hunter, Meredith, Lily and Andrew. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Bonnie Marie; and his sister, Doris Stephenson. Tom served in the U.S. Army 282nd Signal Pigeon Company during World War II. After the war, Tom returned from overseas to support his family and farm in Mineral, Va. as a plumber. He was a long-time member of Fork Baptist Church and never gave up his love of racing his award winning pigeons with the Richmond Homing Pigeon Club. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, Va. 23229. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 12 noon, with interment following at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.woodyfuneralhomeparham.com
