Thomas Elmer Eckman

Thomas "Tommy" Eckman, 63, of Wallingford, passed peacefully in his home on January 21st, 2015. What do you say about a man who was larger than life; who lived above and beyond "loving family man," "loyal friend," and "kind stranger". Tom wore every hat. He was a loving son. He was a caring brother. A tender husband. A loyal friend. He was the giver to those in need. He was the happy smile & wave hello to a stranger. He was the supportive coach and boss. But most of all, the favorite hat he wore was loving his family above anything else in the world. Anyone who knew Tom knew the love he had for his children and the happiness they brought him. They were the moon, the stars, and every galaxy in-between, and he will forever be that to them.

Preceded in death by his father, Elmer Eckman, and mother, Catherine Thiel Eckman.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Eckman, and his children, Christian Eckman (Deana), Devon Eckman (Donald Blizzard), Steven Eckman (Emily), Natalie Eckman (Sean Etter), Emma Eckman, Molly Eckman, Nicole Eckman, and James Cleary. His grandchildren, Ashley Eckman, Abigail Etter, Tyler Eckman, and Lyla Eckman. His siblings, Mary Lou Strobel, Joan Miller, Trudy Berman, James Eckman, Ray Thiel, Dave Thiel, Chrissy Butakis, and James Thiel.

FUNERAL MASS HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY (1/31/15), 11:00 am at St. John Chysostom Church. 617 South Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086. There will be a calling hour from 9:30-10:30 before mass begins on Saturday.

Contributions may be made in Tom's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
