RIP, Tom. Appreciated our friendship. Stan Simpson

Dear George Family,

I am so sorry to learn of Tommy's passing. Having lived right next door to your family, part of the Sleepy Hollow gang lost a treasured soul in Tommy. He was one of the most talented artists I have ever seen. The whole family is talented in the art world. Daryn, Tommy's sister, was my best friend growing up and all thru high school. Our families were very very close. Tommy was quiet but a quick quick wit! The world is a better place as he was in it. I have so...

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of my old friend, Tommy George. To the family of Tommy George:

I am saddened to hear of Tom' passing and send my regards to you all. Tom was a colleague and friend at the Danbury News-Times in the 1980s; and was very supportive of me as a cub reporter. He was a good man and respected by those he met. I'll remember that mischievous smile and sense of humor! ...Stan Simpson

I recall with fond memories of my interactions with Tom during my first years at Western Connecicut. He was someone that always had great insight into people and events. Words cannot replace a husband and father but hopefully knowing the effect that Tom had on so many persons will help assuage your loss,

Dear Dorothy, Daryn and family I am so sorry for your loss, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Chris LaRose

Just reading about Tom's passing hit me like a brick. I remember growing up on Sleepy Hollow and picking up my papers to be delivered at the George's house, hanging around with Michael and looking up to his big brother Tommy who was writing for the News Times.
I followed his coverage every day and he was an incredible writer. In fact, I still have a profile he wrote about me after my first year of coaching which still brings back memories of our 1st fciac championship.
