There are no words to express the sadness I, and undoubtedly so many others, feel over the loss of this wonderful human being. I don't believe that anything written or spoken can properly express what the loss of Tom means to me. I had not seen him in many years, but during the years I did know Tom, I got to see his strength of character, and know the love he had in his heart. I knew Tom when he was a lifeguard and a college student. I had the pleasure of flying with Tom (he was an excellent pilot) and I ran the last few miles of the Marine Corps Marathon with him just to cheer him on. I'll never forget those experiences b/c I have rarely met such a kind, calm, positive and disciplined person. He dated my best friend and I considered him a friend as well.
