I did not know Tommy long, but what a very special person he was. On my trips Boston, he made me feel so welcome and always went out of his way to help. My deepest sympathy to Mary and the McAteer family on their great loss.

I haven't been in touch with Tommie for years, and was so sorry to hear of his passing. I always remember his warmth and humor when I was new at MIT. His cheerfulness brightened my day. Like Sal Puleo said, he was a good and gentle soul.

Rest in peace, Tommie Your kindness left an impression on so many of us

My sincere condolences to his family.

To Tom's children, grandchildren and wife Mary. I volunteered with Tom Monday nights for 15 years. We would often meet in the cafeteria. He would sit and sip tea while I ate dinner. He spoke of his love for his children, grandchildren his new wife, his pets and Ireland. We always had many laughs. I will miss him so. He was a wonderful man.

Our deepest sympathies to Tom's family and friends. We didn't know Tom long. Just long enough to know what a great person he was. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers. We will miss him.

Mr McAteer was good man. I'm sorry to the family. He will be missed.
