Dear Mrs. McCann,
I knew your dear husband from Holy Spirit Chapel. He was there every Sunday and would read the Epistle and Psalm in his clear and commanding voice. I knew he was an Army officer. He gave me a Viet Nam pin one Sunday. I was an Army Nurse in that country and he wanted me to have it.
He talked about his lovely wife, Trish, and showed your photo to us. You are indeed lovely.
We dedicated the Mass for Tom today. We will miss him but we are happy that he is surely with the Lord and not suffering anymore.
I am a widow myself and I can feel your pain. Our Lord gives us hope that we will be reunited with our love one. Until then, we make our way in this valley of tears and look for the path that God wants us to take. May the peace that Christ can only give be yours. Ask Tom to pray for you. He will be a good intercessor.

I am crushed for you in this news. I so enjoyed seeing you and Tom at Olli just Oct 13! Tom was a great law school classmate. I recall your stories of Xmas in Death Valley Park. What a pair you were. I am sorry for your great loss.
