"Tom McCarthy"

Before I married Georgia she told me stories about Tom, Terri and Megan. She insisted I meet them as soon as possible. I met Terri and Megan fairly quick but several years passed before I actually got to meet Tom. I had jokingly mentioned to a few in the family that Tom must be a figment of their imagination. I even had the chance to speak to Tom on the phone and again jokingly mentioned that he must be an imaginary figure in the family because everyone spoke of Tom...

Tom,my uncle and my godfather, showed his love to his extended family with so much kindness and so much generosity. He's been responsible for some of the most magnificent and memorable experiences that all of us have had. Thank you, Tom; we will never stop remembering you and never stop loving you.

Thomas McCarthy was a magnificent, kind and outstanding brother-in-law. He was the kind of person who wanted to make sure everyone around him was happy and had everything they needed or wanted. I often referred to him in a joking way as "my fairy god-father". He anticipated all of our needs and acted to solve any problem we thought we had. Tom was a religious man and we often went to church together when I visited. He was a loving and dedicated son-in-law to our mother who lived with...

It was with great saddness to learn of Tom's passing. We worked together in London and although we had little dealings he was always positive and well known for his managerial skill and competence. May God rest his soul and provide comfortt to Terri and Megan.

It was a huge shock to learn of Tom's tragic passing. I worked directly for Tom in the Bechtel Rail business line for several years before I retired in mid-2007. He was one of the sharpest men I ever met at Bechtel and a tireless worker who led by his own example of dedication and devotion to the company as well as its employees. This is a terrible blow and loss for Bechtel not to mention how hard it is for his family to accept such an untimely passing. My heart goes out to Terri, Megan...

I knew Tom in high school back in MD. My memories of Tom and the adventures we shared as friends always include a very wide smile and willingness to help, to accommodate, to rescue anyone and everyone. He was the kid your parents were happy you had in your circle of friends. I visited New Orleans the spring he graduated from Loyola and have been several times since. It was NEVER so much fun and laughter as the first visit that included Tom. I've not seen him in many many years, but I...

My fondest memory of Tom McCarthy was over 23 years ago. Carroll and Nancy went to South Carolina to visit with Tom and Terri before the baby arrived. By the time we made it to South Carolina, Megan had already been born into this world, so tiny, less than two pounds and 13 inches long.

We went straight to the hospital when we arrived. There was Tom, with his wife at his side, standing over the incubator with his big wide hands stretched over the baby. Tom told us, "Don't...

No matter where we are, no matter what we do, no matter how bleak or frightening our prospects, each and every one of us who believe, each and every day, lies in the same safe and impregnable place, in the hollow of God's hand. The memories of our life long friendship has always been a daily thought, followed by a smile and a shake of the head. May you be resting in the hollow of God's hand.My love to all.

THOMAS MACCARTHY, no more with us, Shah Sahib read the message for us sent by his secretary. The news shocked every one in the office. I gathers all of my memories related to him and and shared with my colleagues. I even can,t remember how many times I picked him up from Airport, home and office as a Civic Chauffeurs driver.I never seen in my professional life such a great person. He was so kind and friendly person who forgave your mistakes quickly.I am always feel comfortable and confident...
