He was such a great man. As my father's older brother he was looked up to and greatly admired by me and my brother and sister. A wonderful, warm man with a great sense of humor and ever present smile.

Dear Murphy family, Sonya and Tom were very good friends of my late mother, Edna Headrick. As I was going through my mom's belongings, I discovered many personal letters between the three of them. Wayne and Reta Flavin Tom and his friendly demeanor will be missed. We had the best of times dancing, camping, traveling with the Maverick Square Dance Club. Hail to another square dos a do-ing in Heaven!

Tom and I were cousins but because he lived on the West Coast and I lived in Chicago, we drifted apart. I'm really happy we had the opportunity to have lunch together a couple of years ago.
