He was such a great man. As my father's older brother he was looked up to and greatly admired by me and my brother and sister. A wonderful, warm man with a great sense of humor and ever present smile.

Dear Murphy family,

Sonya and Tom were very good friends of my late mother, Edna Headrick. As I was going through my mom's belongings, I discovered many personal letters between the three of them. Their love and fondness for each other permeated every page.

Edna always held both in the highest regard. Sonya and Tom had, and still do, have a beautiful and splendid family. Both Tom and Sonya were virtuous, intelligent, talented and loyal citizens. But most importantly, they were faithful Christians and loving parents. Filled with proud humility, they adored their family.

May God bestow His graces and bless Tom, Sonya and your family now and always. Sleep in peace, Tom and Sonya, and Godspeed.

With love and respect,

John Headrick

Tom and his friendly demeanor will be missed.
We had the best of times dancing, camping, traveling with the Maverick Square Dance Club.
Hail to another square dos a do-ing in Heaven!

Tom and I were cousins but because he lived on the West Coast and I lived in Chicago, we drifted apart. I'm really happy we had the opportunity to have lunch together a couple of years ago. He still had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a bright and moral man. He meant a lot to everyone who knew him.
