Thomas Clinton Oberlander “OB”, age 65, passed away at Bucyrus Community Hospital March 17, 2025. OB was born to the late Lloyd and Wilma (Coulter) Oberlander March 18, 1959 in Fort Wayne Indiana. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister Shirley.
OB was survived by children, Thomas (Tiffany Riles) Oberlander II, Jeremiah Oberlander, and Jolene (Roy) Joan; significant other, Carol Harley; grandchildren, Britton, Airanna, Hunter, Rylee, Rogelyn, and Oliver; sister, Sharon Oberlander; brother, Lenny (Sue) Holdcraft; as well as numerous other siblings.
OB worked as a cook for number of years at many different establishments from Carolyn’s Kitchen, Julie’s/Gus’s, Rustic Inn, Willie’s Diner, and at Baker’s. He also worked for a number of years at Swifty. OB did have quite the green thumb, for years he grew his own garden, tomatoes, peppers, and many other things to eat and share with family. When he watched sports, he was always rooting for The Ohio State Buckeyes, The Dallas Cowboys and that was only if Nascar wasn’t on, which was his favorite to watch. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing trips with family, going to concerts, and shooting pool. OB also served for a number of years in the National Guard.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at the Bucyrus Nazarene Church on April 5, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Memorials may be made through the funeral home. Moments of remembrance may be left online at www.munzpirnstill.com
