Thomas M. Posephney

Tom was born in mid-fall 1945 to John, Marie and brother, John Jr. Posephney in Flint, MI. In 1948 the family moved to California making their home in Hayward. This is where he met his lifelong friends, Tommy Franko, Steven, Ron, and Stan. Together they grew up, fell in love, got married and started their own lives. They would get together and keep in touch for the next 50 plus years. Tom graduated from Mt. Eden High School in Hayward in 1963. In 1963 Tom joined the Air Force and served in England as a code interpreter, a difficult job requiring top government clearance. After his time with the Air Force he met and married his first wife, Lynn, growing their family with their daughter, Dawn. Tom worked for the government as a machinist for about 10 years. He then drifted from job to job, marrying his second wife, Bonnie, a short-lived romance. Tom then found his place in the workforce in gaming and flourished, as did all he worked with and for. He worked in Reno and Laughlin, NV. This is where he met and married his third wife, Becky. They moved to Washington in the late 1990s. Tom aided in opening and training at both Tulalip and Emerald Queen Casinos. In 1998 they divorced and Tom moved to Everett. In Everett he helped to open, train, and operate Big Al's Casino. This is where he met his fourth wife, Lorie. It was love at first kiss and they spent the next 19 years on adventures together. Tom then helped to open, train, and operate Hwy 9 Casino in Lake Stevens where he and Lorie worked together while building their new life. Tom and Lorie travelled - in the car, on a plane, or just walking around town. They went to Mexico, Hawaii, and Canada often and travelled just about everywhere west of the Rockies. Tom and his brother, John took several golf trips, including one that lasted three weeks and 25 golf courses! In April 2005 Tom and Lorie were married. They continued to travel, play golf, and garden. Tom was an avid gardener and landscaper. He loved showing off all that he grew. Tom and Lorie went to blues festivals and found their place with brother, John at the Sunbanks Blue Festival in Electric City, WA. They enjoyed all the friends new and old. They shared this special place and times together twice a year for 18 years. They jokingly referred to this piece of heaven as their "timeshare". Through all this Tom was diagnosed with vascular disease, and later Waldenstrom's lym-phoma. They would knock him down and he would bounce right back as he did with all the challenges in his life. Tom was kind, generous, outgoing, open, and honest. He was full of practical jokes and loving gestures. He was sweet with a sometimes prickly exterior. Tom truly enjoyed life and tried to include as many friends and family in his enjoyment. Tom is survived by his wife, Lorie Posephney (Everett, WA), brother, John Posephney (Sandy, AZ), daughter, Dawn Woodmancy (Russ) (AL); granddaughter, Jenna Ellis (CA), grandsons, Riley Woodmancy (AL), Riley Crane-Carlan (Everett, WA) Wyatt Carlan (Marysville, WA), stepsons, Brandon Carlan (Nin) and Joel Forsman; best friend, Tommy Franko (CA), and the guys: Steve Petronzio (Carol), Stan Rodriguez (Georgette), Donovan Lane (Tracy), Susan Montieth, and the Sunbanks Blues Family. A Memorial celebration will be held Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 2pm at Evergreen Funeral and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203. We look forward to friends, neigh-bors, and family gathering to celebrate Tom's life.
