Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home - Evendale/Blue Ash Obituary

Thomas B. Raley, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 16th, 2023. He was born June 23rd, 1942 in Bellefontaine, Ohio to the late Beryl and Betty (nee Coy) Raley. Devoted husband of nearly 51 years to his surviving wife, Melanie (nee Courtright) Raley; father of Courtney (Brady) Hamilton and Drew (Alison) Raley; grandfather of Kendall, Addison, and Charlie Hamilton; brother of Debbie (Fred) Yoder and Mike Raley; brother-in-law of Richard (Julie) Courtright; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and his cherished miniature schnauzer, Bugsy. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, J. Richard and Patrick Raley.

Thomas grew up in Plain City, Ohio. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 1961-1965 during the Cuban Missile Crisis on a Destroyer vessel USS New while his brother was also stationed on another ship in the same area. Thomas landed on 34 different countries during his time of service. He built a steady and accomplished career and became Vice President at Dolbey and Company, Inc. until his retirement.

Thomas was often described as the life of any party. He was a great storyteller and everyone who knew him will miss his witty sense of humor. Thomas developed so many friendships throughout his life which includes the Pleasant Run Farms group and his fellow fishing and boating comrades. Thomas loved spending time on Lake Erie on a boat with his family and friends. Most of all, Thomas was a very proud Dad and Grandpa to his favorite kids who always melted his heart.

The family wishes to thank the entire team at Mercy Health Fairfield for their outstanding care and, especially, Cardiologist Dr. Kevin Cochran, who has been with Thomas on this journey.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 24th at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.MRFH.com

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Thomas’ honor are suggested to American Heart Association www.heart.org  OR to Schnauzer Rescue Cincinnati, https://schnauzerrescuecincinnati.org/

A special love, life and family....

Single Tree

I worked with Tom at Dolbey for many years. He was always a favorite. When he found out I lived on the west side of town he told me how much he hated having to drive on the west side. Swore his compass in his car would just spin in circles on the west side of Cincinnati. Hahaha. Many, many fond memories.
I hope your family finds solace knowing he brought a smile to everyone he met with his humor and good cheer.

Sincere sympathy, Melanie. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I pray that your hearts find comfort in faith friends and family as you grieve your loss.
