Not sure what to say?

Condolences to you, Laura and family, from high school classmate John Cudworth (lived in Webster Hill).

It is a great loss of a wonderful man and teacher. As I edit many documents through the day, I realize it is the training of my mind that he provided me in 7th grade back in the late 70's that still guides me today. For an engineer who loves to edit the English language for proper usage, I owe all the basics to Mr. Ranney. IN REMEMBRANCE OF TOM RANNEY

As a friend of Gloria and Tom, I recall the years we enjoyed and shared as Historical Interpreters of the Mark Twain House and in recent times, my time with Gloria as interpreters for the Harriet Beecher Stowe Museum. Although Tom retired after decades as the supreme interpreter at Twain, his imprint was well recognized and acknowledged.

Tom's life encompassed so much and impressed so many. People from all walks of life loved Tom's engaging ability...

Sending my condolences to the family of Mr Ranney. I had Mr Ranney for 7th grade English at Sedgwick in the 80\'s. I\'ll never ever forget him reading to us the daily Almanac... every morning in the driest non expressive voice. He was hilarious with his dry sense of humor.
May light perpetual shine upon him, and may his family be comforted knowing he is in the presence of Our Lord.
Sincerely,
Tracy Parke

Remembering the winter of '64 in Mr. Ranney's class, 3rd period...

Sorry for your loss may you draw comfort from Gods word at Hosea 13:14. L Ohio

Tom was one of my favorite people during my years at The Mark Twain House. His dry wit and encyclopedic knowledge made him a fascinating colleague. My sincere condolences.

I had the pleasure of having Mr. Ranney in 8th grade at Sedgwick Middle School. I am now 41 years old. By reading all of these sentiments, his teaching spanned decades. My sympathies to you all.

Apologies to Sam Clemens for liberties taken...

Warm summer sun, Shine kindly there,
Warm southen wind, Blow softly there.
Green sod above, Lie light, lie light.
Good night dear heart, Good night.
