THOMAS ROBERTS Obituary
THOMAS DRAPER ROBERTS (Age 70)
Of Washington, DC passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Adams; his brothers, Richard, C.V., Andrew and Geoffrey Roberts; five nieces and nephews, and a host of other beloved relatives and friends. Tom worked for the Department of Justice in the Tax and Environment and Natural Resource Divisions. Once retired, he devoted himself to paddling on beautiful rivers, riding miles on his recumbent tricycle and traveling to photograph wildlife in the US and around the world.An event to celebrate his life will be held soon. In the meantime, in lieu of flowers please consider a contribution in his memory to American Rivers or Martha's Table.

Tom had that unique skill of taking the vicissitudes of life and turning them into hilarious adventures. For that reason we always looked forward to his holiday letters. We are saddened that his story telling skills will no longer brighten our lives, most especially that of Sandra.

So very sad to learn of Tom's untimely passing. I knew Tom for 40+ years and always enjoyed his company and his big heart, both at the Tax Division and at our occasional lunches in retirement. He was the real deal in every way and will be missed by so many. My condolences to Sandra and the whole family.
