THOMAS P. RODDY

'ODDY THOMAS P. RODDY Thomas P. Roddy, beloved husband of Mary Ware Roddy, died on November 21, 2013, after a long illness. He was 78 years of age. Mr. Roddy was a member of the Washington community of investment bankers. He began his career at the firm of Folger, Nolan, Fleming, Douglas in 1959, and departed in 1988, when he established Lafayette Square Partners, now Lafayette Investments. He remained there until his retirement in 2009. Mr. Roddy was active in the Washington community throughout his professional life. He was deeply involved in the Higher Achievement Program and the Washington Jesuit Academy. He was a trustee emeritus of the Holton-Arms School, and an enthusiastic supporter of the Corcoran Gallery of Art. He was a Knight of Malta and a member of The Friendly Sons of St Patrick. He was also a member of the Chevy Chase Club and the Metropolitan Club. Mr. Roddy was born in Washington, D.C., and attended Sacred Heart Academy, and Georgetown Preparatory School from which he graduated in 1953. Following that, he received degrees from Villanova University and George Washington University. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Siobhan Wilan, Delia Fine, and Thomas P. Roddy, Jr., and five grandchildren, Alexandra, Adrienne, and Paul Fine, and Thomas and Peter Wilan. His brother, Norman Joseph Roddy also survives him, as do numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Roddy "s parents, Norman Leo Roddy and Helen O'Toole Roddy, predeceased him as did his sisters Helen Nickerson, Deborah Baker, Jeanne Mowe, and Joan Regnell. There will be a memorial Mass on December 4, at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 3513 N Street, N.W., to celebrate his life. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Tom's name to The Washington Jesuit Academy.
