Tom was a childhood friend through Starr King, Eastern Little League, front yard football, El Camino HS. We called him "Moochie" as he was a bit smaller, like his nickname namesake "Moochie" from the Mickey Mouse Club. He was ungodly fast! Smaller never stopped him. And always a smile! Even after I moved away from Sac at 16, I had the chance for a couple of phone conversations here and there over the years...and he was still the gracious friend.
