Not sure what to say?

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

One of the best Officers I have had the pleasure to work with. We had some great times working DWI together. He will be missed but not forgotten. Always could cheer up a group or room. RIP Brother

My prayers and thoughts are with Tom's family at this time. Tom was a very dedicated and professional police officer who loved the job he did and the citizens he protected. He was a pleasure to be around and to work with because of his professionalism. He will truly be missed.

Tom watched me grow up as a kid and as a police officer . He worked side by side with my dad for years. Great supervisor and leader. I know hes telling dad a great story. My thoughts and prayers are with the Self family.

I met tom years ago when he pulled me over. I told him the truth about why I was speeding and he laughed and said he couldnt believe that I told it at my detriment. He let me off with a warning while still laughing ! He became a friend and always laughed when he saw me. Tough guy, with a big heart! My friend!!!!

I worked with Tom when he was a security guard at Burlington in Shreve City.He was a very nice guy, quick to help, funny, with a wry sense of humor, always had a smile and a story.GodSpeed Tom ,your reward awaits!❤

Sorry to hear. I worked with Tom back in the 90s at Shreveport PD. He was one of my Sergeants. He was one of the best supervisors! He treated you like a friend and not just like another coworker. He offered you help and assistance when needed and wasnt afraid to get into the mix with you. He was definitely an asset to the City of Shreveport and Marine Corp. Rest easy my friend and may God bless your family.

Some called him Nam(Vietnam)Tom but I called him my FTO(Field Training Officer) and partner. When I landed back home in Sport from San Diego PD, I joined the Sport PD, went through the academy and during my second phase of training was assigned to Tom as my FTO. We worked graveyard in The Grove and when the calls for service subsided, usually around 0200 hrs, Tom and I hit the Circle K at 70th and Linwood for a hot dog and coffee. We talked about our tours in SE Asia. Of course we all have...

My condolences to the family. I knew Tom from SPD. Great guy and lots of good stories. Im sorry to hear of his passing.
