Not sure what to say?

Jane & Family, Hard to believe Tom passed ten years ago. Tom was my best friend. So miss the daily visits regarding ND football and Tom's updates on Jane and his upcoming fishing trips to Wyo. Tom will always be remembered as the most generous smart funny loving person I knew. He will be long remembered by all of us who so admired and loved him. Kevin Murphy Casper, Wyo

Hemingway wrote "one true sentence" in using the least amount of words to convey his thoughts - Judge Shanahan prescribed to the very same type of thinking when handing out "his own" thoughts..! His genius was his ability to say more with less. I got lucky in life, not many get to brag about being best friends with the son of such a kind soul!

My deepest sympathies to the family of Mr. Shanahan only met Tom for a short time in therapy.... your friend the poet-photographer

Jane, Toma and Family -- It was a joy working for and knowing Judge Shanahan. His approach to the practice of law, his humor, his kindness and his demand that you approach your work with intellectual curiousity and honesty have influenced me to this day.

I never got to meet Mr. Shanahan; but, if he and Tom were anything alike, he must have been a wonderful man. Tom, my family's prayers are with you and your family.

Your friend,

Jerry Johnson

Jane, We express our deepest sorrow to you and your family in this time of sadness. Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Our prayers are with you.

Jane and Family, Words can't describe my sadness at the loss of my best friend, fishing partner and fellow ND Alum. The people of Wyoming were so blessed that Tom and you adopted our state as your second home. Never thought I could miss someone so much. Please know the Murphys in Wyoming will always hold a special place in our hearts for the Shanahan family. Our prayers are with you. Love, Kevin and family

Cat and Family --
I'm so sorry you have lost your dad. From what I've learned, he was a passionate and loyal person to all. His essence certainly lives on in you, your siblings, and your children. May God grant you stamina during the sad times and the ability to smile and remember the good times.
Much love, Firefly

Jane -- When you, Fritz and Tom graced the ranch, Nature rejoiced. One reason was that Tom never much threatened the fish population. And when he episodically slipped in the stream it was clever how he made that an act of piety -- re-baptism, he called it. But now Tom is where the hatch matches whatever he puts on, and the trout volunteer for exercise, and he is grinning. Thanks for sharing him with the Sand Hills.
