Thomas J Stanton, the beloved husband of Dorthea Pilgram Stanton( deceased) and loving father of Jacqueline Chase (Mary Patricia), Mary Beth Willats, Mary Kathleen Wayman, Mary Lynn Stanton, Robert Stanton, Thomas Stanton, Mary Margaret Vigna, and John Stanton passed on to his eternal reward on September 5, 2021. He was in his home with his family by his side. Thomas (Tom) was a wonderful husband to his wife Dorthea (Dee) for 68 years before she preceded him in death in 2020. Tom was the proud grandfather of 18 children and the proud Great grandfather of 10 children. Tom was the youngest son of Robert F Stanton and Anna Weinbrenner Stanton. His brothers Robert Stanton and John "Jack" Charles Stanton preceded him in death. Tom was a graduate of McBride High School class of 1945 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy with the wish to become a Pilot. However, prior to beginning flight school, World War II ended and he was Honorably Discharged. He attended Washington University and obtained a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 1952. After graduation, he married the love of his life and began their lives together. Tom, an avid lover of Art and Architecture parlayed his creative skills into an Advertising and Marketing Career with CBS Television, KMOX Television, Creative Consultants, Donnelly & Stanton. After a brief stint in the premium business, Tom became the Vice-President and COO of Pizza Hut, St. Louis. After a successful tour with Pizza Hut, Tom closed out his career with the Psychological Associates and his company Feedback Inc. Tom was an active community member offering skills sets to many organizations. He was an active Board member for the University Club for seven years and was known to have a pretty mean squash game. Tom loved helping promote local organizations. He aided Visitation Academy in marketing its excellent Education that five of his daughters attended. He assisted with "Meals on Wheels" and was a dedicated health care assistant to Unity Health Hospice. He was a founding family of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church and was the Senior Administrator of the local chapter of St. Vincent DePaul Society. It was our honor to have met your father. He gave so much to so many. We are sorry for your loss and celebrate his life as a loving and shining example of kindness and humanity.

Boo, we are very sorry for your loss and are thinking of your entire family at this very difficult time.

My condolences and prayers on the loss of a great man. He served as treasurer of the South District of the St. Louis St. Vincent de Paul Society when I was president. He was truly a humble man in the highest sense of that word. His consistent support and competence remain a constant model for me.

Great family that you and Dee created and nurtured, Tom. Thanks for the love, kindness, wit and wisdom that you shared with all of us over the years. Sorry for your loss Kathleen and the rest of your sibs but so happy for the wonderful experiences that you have in your hearts, mind and soul for eternity.
