I don't like people...but I liked Mr.Whelan. "Tom" as he would humbly insisted that I call him , even tho he liked the correct Irish pronunciation of "Wheeeelan". This was an evolved human who I respected,that raised 8 honest productive kids,had interests in sports ,politics,hard work and not ashamed to shed a tear when Judy Garland sang! I truly admired his ability to assess each person as an individual and address them with respect ,accessability,and a wry wicked sense of humor. I only knew...

Mr Whelan was a kind friend and a good neighbor.
Always a man with a good word and a big smile, he provided a steady foundation for all eight of his children.
His big heart and warm smile will truly be missed.
