Tim McKinney

It is with unimaginable sadness that Tim McKinney, loving husband and father, journeyed on to a peaceful rest on April 12, 2017 after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. In recent months, Tim was blessed to take several trips with his wife, Tori, and daughter, Halley, to New Orleans including a trip to buy a Marigny condo, to the January Radiators' Reunion shows, and to Mardi Gras with his besties - Halley, Mike "Citron" McKeon, and Jim Morrison. Tim also made it to Super Bowl LI, the game of a lifetime with his beloved New England Patriots and dear friend, Mike Hoban. He returned to New Orleans to rest in his favorite place. He enjoyed 2 weeks of visits from family and dear friends including a few house concerts of a lifetime with John Gros, Ed "Zeke" Volker, and Reggie Scanlan. The sweetest, gentlest, kindest, most generous man we know is missed and loved by so many friends and family. We will celebrate Tim's life with two Second Lines:In Falls Church, VA - Sunday, April 23rd, 7pm at Clare and Don's Beach Shack, 140 N Washington St, with Magnolia Blue horns and Cactus Liquors. And In New Orleans, LA - Tuesday, May 2nd, 6pm at Chickie Wah Wah, 2828 Canal St, with John Gros and members of PapaGrowsFunk, Bonerama horns and a few other friends before Anders Osborne show.
