I knew Tim through working at Lindquist Ford where we picked up cars all over the country for customers. We spent many hours in the car driving to and from dealerships and car auctions. I got to know Tim during those long drives. We passed the time talking about family, vacations we enjoyed, our favorite places to eat, and many other things. He was easy to talk with and the conversations were effortless.
He was a genuinely nice person who was very thoughtful. He was always doing kind things for others, even people he didn't know well. My husband, Jim, works at Lindquist Ford, and many times Tim would bring in a little surprise for him that he saw on one of his drives, such as beef sticks from a meat shop north of Dubuque that he knew Jim liked.
One time on a drive to an auction, we picked up a car and when we stopped to get gasoline, I locked the keys in the car. Instead of getting annoyed or angry, he was very calm and nice and found the nearest Ford dealership to get a key made so we could get on our way.
Tim's family and friends will miss him and the kindness he showed to us. I know I will miss talking with him on those long drives.
