Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Tina's passing today, and am so sad to hear of it. It was wonderful working with Tina in her role at DPH-CBHS. She will forever be known as pioneer in cultural competence, and one of it's strongest advocates, often giving us in the nonprofit sector "insider" tips on how we could advocate for it when she could not as a public servant. She had the biggest and most welcoming heart, always in a bright and merry mood. Condolences to Tyson and all her family and friends. She...

Before I received this notice, I dreamt of Tina again. This was similar to my experience when she passed away. So I thought that she must be reminding me of her anniversary. In my dream, she walked passed me while walking in the park and a did not respond when I remarked that I thought she was gone. She responded when I inquired about Ed, her husband. Tina in her usual way said he is fine/ he is OK. In my culture, some of us believe that our dearly departed are around us, watching us,...

Tina's memory brings me peace often. What a lovely colleague and friend. Much love to Ed and family.

Ed, I hope you and the family are doing well. I still miss Tina dearly and think of her and her influence on my life and Visions often. Peace be with you. Val

To Ed and family, I was sad to hear of Tina´s death. May you all feel the community of love and justice she created across her life. I was grateful to know her and work with her as a part of VISIONS. Rest in power.

Ed, l saw the news of Tina's passing on Reiko's fb page. My heart goes our to you and your family. I so regret our losing contact in the past few years. I have many memories of fun times we shared as well as of the work Tina and l did together for so many years . I will never forget climbing the Great Wall! I also loved eating "Chinese Soul Food" in SF and Oakland China Towns...so many good memories will remain. Take good care of yourself and know you have a friend in me. Much love. Val Batts

I dreamt of Tina this morning (June 18th) inviting me to lunch, seeing her beautiful vivid face. Since we lost touch a decade ago, I googled her to see how she was doing only to find out that she passed away in May. While writing this, I am very tearful because I very much appreciate her visiting me in my dream. Dr. Tina Tong Yee was in the forefront of cultural competency within the SF Behavioral Health Services. I remember her pulling an all nighter with me to submit a federal proposal,...
