Carpenter Memorial Chapel - North Platte Obituary

Todd M. Fritz, 57, of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2022 at his home.


Born on March 24, 1965 in Cambridge, NE he was the son of Martin L. and Sundae M. (Mues) Fritz.


Todd graduated from Bartley Public School and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1983-87.  He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist, retiring in 2022.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.  He was in the process of restoring a vintage motorcycle.  He was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to rock-n-roll music.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.


Those left to cherish Todd’s memory are his daughter, Paula Fritz of North Platte; son, Ben Fritz of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Ava and Jaiden; sisters, Marla (Shane) Messersmith of McCook, and Tracy Moon of North Platte; nieces and nephews, Collin, Kylie, and Karsen Messersmith, Nathan, and Jessica Moon.


Todd was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Dennis Fritz.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bob Deardoff officiating.  The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend the service at the funeral home website www.carpentermemorial.com.  Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. with military honors at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery near Bartley.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18th at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements. 


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.

I was in Marine Corps boot camp with Todd and his cousin Larry, was trying to find him on line when I found out he had passed away, Iam from nearby and never realized he had moved to North Platte. Rest in peace Todd.
