His ethic and demeanor became a part of my own personal DNA and guided me through 4 years of high school, 4 years at a service academy, 28 years in the Marine Corps and 2 tours in Iraq. Coach Carroll has been a lasting good memory from my years at St Anthony H.S. in the 1960's. I've thought of him often over the years. Back then he was humorous, caring, necessarily gruff, with an ever-present rarely lit, but always well-chewed, cigar. He was a good man. God bless him and his.

This was a tragic loss for the entire Damien Community. Coach was a pillar throughout the years, and will be dearly missed. My condolences to the entire family.
