Not sure what to say?

I only got to meet and speak with Dr. Caldwell-Colbert on one occasion, and yet she had a lasting impression. I asked for her assistance on a project, and she agreed, If I would agree to have her on my dissertation committee when it was time. This would have been such a great honor I would have been afraid to ask her to be on my committee, and yet she was requesting to be. This was unheard of at ISU at the time. Unfortunately she left the university before it was time for my dissertation...

I am deeply saddened to hear of Toy's passing. I just learned of her battle and succumb to cancer in a conversation with colleagues today. Toy was one of the very first people I met when I began working for the American Council on Education. My first thought when I saw her was, "What a regal woman!" Indeed, a regal woman with a very fine record of achievement. My deepest sympathies to your family. My prayer is that you will forever keep her close in your hearts; I certainly will.

I was deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Toy. I received the ESU Spotlight and noticed her name in the Memorials. My memories are of Toy and I dancing together. Her mother was my dance instructor. We danced together in many recitals as well as productions at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS in the early 60's. We also were judges for cheerleading tryouts at Emporia High School. I have very fond memories of my dancing days with Toy and her sister Terry. We were the same age and her...

Bill and I just read the Emporia State University Spotlight and are very shocked and saddened to learn of Toy's passing. We are so sorry for you and all of the rest of the world who are missing such a truly beautiful human being.
