We are so very sorry for your loss. We knew Twana and her beautiful family from the Trinity Lutheran School days. We car pooled together and fell in love with Twana and her family. Twana was always happy and the sunshine in everyone's day! She was strong and so full of life and had a passion for living each day to the fullest! She loved her animals-her dogs and her horses.
She and Stacey spent a lot of time together-sleepovers, riding horses, giggling all night and having a great time! They lost touch but saw each other at the rodeo several years ago and re-connected...like time had stood still. They enjoyed catching up on each other's lives and exchanged Christmas cards.
Your loss is great-Twana was truly a one of a kind person, never meeting a stranger.
Our hearts ache for you. Please know that we will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. May God wrap His loving arms around you and grant you comfort and peace. Twana, you will be missed. You touched so many lives and will never be forgotten.
Love, Stacey and Bev

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Twana's passing. I met her when she was in her mid twenties; going to school and working, along with helping her dad with the horses at the ranch. She met her future husband around that time and she didn't miss a beat but took it all in stride. She seemed to just embrace life with a grounded-ness that few people possess. My grandmother would say that she had 'pluck'. I would say she had that and so much more. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family for their loss is a great one. You are all in my prayers.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Twana while working the Transplant unit at Houston Methodist. Twana had a smile that could light up a room and she knew how to always make you laugh even while being sick in the hospital. I loved getting to visit with her and sometimes I would forget I was even at work, that was just who she was, and I'm thankful I got to be part of her life and she enjoyed hearing about mine and my partners life, never judging just talking like we knew each other for years. Twana, thank you for allowing me to be part of you and your family, you will be missed dearly and I can honestly say that transplant will never be the same for me, but I promise her I will make her proud by always living life to the fullest and by becoming a donor. Rip my friend, I love you and will never forget you.

Our prayers will be with all the family. May God surround you in his loving arms and wipe away your tears. God bless you all.

Twana was one of my favorite people. I'm glad I knew her. She was fun to be around and an inspiration throughout her illness. A real trooper. I NEVER heard her complain! She gave it her all and I understand she was that way with everything she did. We miss you ALL at bowling. Things will never be the same. I had the pleasure to meet Twana two years ago at a Life Gift Awards Ceremony and she offered to give me a ride home. I had ridden to the Ceremony with my daughter and granddaughter, my daughter planned on assisting with handing out the Awards. She had been on the receiving end when her 10 month old son had passed away and he donated his hear valve. Her emotion got the best of her and wanted to leave, but didn't want to leave me stranded. After only knowing Twana for an hour or so she stepped up and offered to take me home. This act of kindness showed me what a special person she was. Twana and my brother Robert Carr had a lot in common, they both received a double lung in 2010, my brother in May and Twana in December. Sadly my brother passed away August 18, 2015, not long before Twana. I pray my brother was there to meet her at Heaven's Gates and welcome her in. May you rest in peace Twana and I know you will never be forgotten.

She was a wonderful daughter, loving caring kind and generous beyond words.
The strongest person I have ever known, endured pain from not being able to breath beyond words to express her discomfort. The last 4 1/2 years she lived her life in double time as through she new she wouldn't be with us long. Words cannot express the pain and grief we feel right now. Her light will shine in our hearts forever. Until we meet again, All of our love! Mom & Dad
