Vaughn was a wonderful neighbor pal of mine. We played basketball in his back blacktop area and played touch football with the boys from across the street in the front. He was a kind and gentle friend that was easy to be with while I was a tomboy!

The Hansen family lived two doors up from my family on University Avenue in the very early 1960s. I was just a little kid ~ and I have clear memories of Vaughn being a kind, patient, bright, considerate guy. Emphasis on the “bright”! My mom enjoyed his occasional visits when on leave or back in town, always involving much talk and much coffee.
