Verabel Call Cluff, 71, passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on September 29, 2012. Born in Brigham City, Utah on January 5, 1941, she was the fourth of five children born to David H. and LaRita Williams Call. She graduated from Box Elder High School and attended Utah State University where she was a member of Chi Omega, and subsequently received a bachelor's degree in communications from American University in Washington D.C. She married Tony Cluff and they had five children (later divorced).

She loved nature, adventure and travel. She was an artist, poet, writer, sculptor, and film maker. She actively advocated for women's issues, encouraging and supporting women in all walks of life to reach their highest potential. She recognized the value of preserving precious family memories and established her own business, Family History Preserved. She was a loyal and caring friend and loved by many. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most of all, she adored her children and eleven grandchildren.

She is survived by four of her five children, Mandi Burkey (Barry), Belle Rhees (Scott), Max (Stephanie) and Hans (Priscilla), son Matthew preceded her in death. Also survived by three sisters LaRita Evans, Suzanne Ferry, Judy Mantlo and brother David (Bo) Call.

A CHI SISTER, ROSALIE BRKLACY, WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER OUR SWEET BELLE AND HER SPARKLING PERSONALITY...SHE MADE THE HOUSE SMILE.

So sorry to hear about Belle. I met her through the indefatigable Mary Bradford. We took a wonderful tour of the British Isles together with Susan Howe, Sue Booth-Forbes, and Mary. Belle kept us laughing the whole way.

You were one of a kind, my Bella Belle. Beautiful, wise, smart, loving, and just so much fun! I was always ok as long as you were out there somewhere. I miss you so much!

Belle was my neighbor and my friend in Arlington, Virginia. I never saw Belle without a smile on her face. Her zest for life, her generosity, her loyalty and her deep commitment to her beliefs are some of the many memories I have and will always have of her.

The world has lost a true valiant spirit. She will be missed by many of us.

To have known Belle is to have loved her and still love her. She danced through this life to the beat of her own drum. She leaves a discernible void and will be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences go to her family.

Will miss your infectious smile, willingness to befriend and help and creativeness. See you later.
