Vickie Leventini Obituary

VICKIE LYN LEVENTINI
JAN 15, 1945 - JUN 21, 2014
Vickie was born to Wayne and Lita Norris in Whittier, CA in 1945.  The family moved to the Hughson area in the 50's.  She attended elementary and high school in Hughson where she graduated in 1963.  At Hughson High School she met her husband Michael Leventini and they wed in 1963.  They moved to San Luis Obispo, CA where Michael attended college and they moved back to the Modesto area in 1969. Although Vickie did work part time over the years (ATT/Pacific Bell and Delta Blood Bank), her primary focus was her family.  She enjoyed time spent watching Michael, her sons and grandchildren participate in various sporting events,  4-H and FFA competitions, school events and enjoyed working on the family farm.  She also enjoyed spending time with close friends and recently traveled to Egypt, Australia, Fiji, Italy, Spain, Hawaii, Kenya and Costa Rica. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Michael Leventini, her mother Lita Norris, her sister Donna Norris Jameison, her son and daughter-in-law Mike and Christi Leventini, her son and daughter-in-law Paul Leventini and LeeAnn Leventini, and grandchildren, Alexa, Isabella, Dominic, Sam and Lauryn.

Not sure what to say?

July 5, 2014

Dear Mike - I have not seen you or Vicki in over 50 years but i will always remember when you started school and rode my bus. You were so much fun as a little tot - and Vicki was a love. I am so warmed by all the letters you have received in her memory - It certainly proved that you and Vicki were real and wonderful from the beginning.

Mike,Lita,Donna & families,
I took this picture of Yvonne (in hair rollers), Vicki holding baby Mikey, and Pam in front of our house on 5th St. in Hughson. I always liked this picture. Three young women with their whole lives ahead of them. Yvonne & Pam had recently given Vicki a baby shower and being the two broke college students that they were, had asked Vicki if it was OK to have silly gifts and games. Vicki just laughed and was very gracious about it and a good time was had by all.
I remember Vicki's words at Yvonne's services, "I can just picture Yvonne & Pam cruising around heaven, pedal-to-the-metal so to speak, laughing and having a good time." And now, one more happy spirit joins them.
Peace and Prayers,
Janice Stewart Rocha

Mike and family....We were saddened to read of Vickie's passing. We loved her smile & personality - always so positive and upbeat. When Mom was living at St. Thomas, she would see Vickie on many occasions when Vickie came to visit her mom. Vickie would always make a point to say "hi" to Mom, which meant so much to my mom!
The Leventini family has been good friends of our family for many years - we have many fond memories of our farming days way back when! This is a great loss to our community and for so many who knew Vickie.
We will keep you in our thoughts & prayers.

So sorry to read of Vickie's passing. We worked together at Dr Zaccheo's office. You could always tell when Vic was there by her joyful peals of laughter. Just yesterday I had a memory of Vickie - when I was at the bakery and heard Vickie calling my name! From there we showed off all the pics of our grandkids and forgot about our orders! She had a tremendous heart and we had many good laughs throughout our work together. May she collect all the dogs in heaven until I get there.

Mike and family.. I've always known Vickie through 4-H & FFA, but I had the pleasure of really getting to know her in my adult years as a client and friend. I would look forward to her appointments because she would share all that was going on with her grandkids- the lights of her life! I would love to hear about her visits to SF to pick out fabric for her granddaughters Ladies Lead outfits. She would bring the swatches of fabric in to show me each time :)
Vickie loved life! I would enjoy listening to her stories of all the trips she made. Though she liked to be back home too because her dog Ziggy was missing her & vice versa!
I can't believe she's gone....Vickie was a sweet, spunky and classy woman! She loved her family so much...What a treasure you're family had to have her as a wife, mom and nana.
She will be missed dearly....

Dear Mike and sons,
Although I have not seen Vickie since my junior/high school years (late 70's), I have always remembered her with fondness. She was my 4H Leader. I remember her as an adept seamstress and baker, but more so, a great role model of what a wife and mother should be. She is gone way too soon. My condolences,

Vickie was my grandmother. She was the best grand mother anyone could wish for! I will miss seeing her at my basketball games, sewing with her and just hanging out. She took me shopping and to San Francisco every year and I will miss that a lot. When I see you again Nana, I will give that foot rub you wanted! I love and miss you so much. Lauryn

Vickie was my Mother-In-Law. From the first day I met her seven years ago to her last, she loved me unconditionally and welcomed me into her family. Vickie was so vibrant and full of life, always! Rarely without that smile! She was the pillar of strength and love in all our lives. She would want us to celebrate her life. We will all miss her deeply.

Vickie, Mike and I were graduates of Hughson High School class of 1963. Vickie and I renewed our friendship two years ago and I was delighted to find that Vickie had not changed. She was still the fun loving, kind, considerate person I had known as a teenager. I will never forget our 50th class reunion, last year, when Mike, choking back tears, thanked Vickie for being in his life. I was so blessed to know Vickie.

It seems like we were working on the 1963 yearbook just so recently, where Vickie was co-editor. I picture Vickie always with a smile on her face! Although I seldom see her, as I live in Irvine, down in Orange County, she was one of my favorite classmates. We'll miss her. Our thoughts are focused on Mike and his family in this tough time.

June 25, 2014

It is with great sadness that we learned of Vickie's passing, Mike. We both think about the great times we've shared with the two of you and all our coaching friends. She was a great girl, with so much energy and such a happy, welcoming spirit. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Your life together is such an example to others of the importance of friendship and commitment, faithfulness and love. May your memories bring you peace and comfort and the promise of eternity bring you the hope of being together again…With love to you and your family. Nick and Mardy Chip
