Victor Decker

Please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn this tragic loss. My husband and I both taught Victor, and we have such fond memories of his smile, sense of humor, and those crazy blond curls! We are so pleased (and not surprised) to see his professional and personal success as a decorated police officer and a loving husband and father. His caring and geniune personality made him a joy to know and to teach. Please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences.

As we sit here trying to make sense of it all. We say to ourselves "How could one of our own Officers take such a fall."

Just in meeting Vic a few times through my boyfriend, who is also a Norfolk police officer, he seemed like a great guy - very sweet. The memorial service was absolutely beautiful and my heart goes out to Dawn, baby Charlotte and family. Baby Charlotte - may you grow up knowing your father was a hero. May God bless you all.

Dawn, I was so sad to her about Victor, but so pleased to know that his life was making such a difference. I remember him always wanting to be a police officer; to know he achieved his goal is precious to me. I watched some of your interview online, and I am proud of the heroic woman you have become. You and your daughter will be in my prayers always.
