Victoria Paladino Obituary

Family-Placed Obituary

VICTORIA ANN PALADINO (nee Butler) Age 51, beloved wife of David C. Paladino, II; loving and adored mother of David C. Paladino, and his girlfriend Heather Regan, John Henry Paladino, and Ana Paolina Victoria Paladino, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 11, 2008. She reunites with her late father, John Pinckney Butler; uncle, James Jorgensen; and faithful dog, Sunset. Additional survivors include her mother, Ann Jorgensen Butler; sisters, Mary Beth Wolf, and Kate Butler; a brother, John Pinckney Butler, Jr. (Michelle); and many nieces and nephews. Vicky leaves a treasured Godchild, Martin Wolf; a mother-in-law, Margaret Paladino; and brother-in-law, Richard Paladino (Nikki); and many special friends who will forever miss her love, faith, spirit, and generosity. She volunteered endlessly for the schools her children attended; and as a lover of all things natural, she never wavered in her dedication to clean and protect the planet, especially the beaches. Vicky's spirituality radiated, and her faith that she would one day reunite with loved ones gone before her provided great comfort. She was the Queen of Shell Collectors, and will be desperately missed and forever loved. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at St. Juliana Catholic Church, 4500 South Dixie Hwy., West Palm Beach, FL 33405. The family will also receive friends in fellowship immediately following the Mass. I hope that the Butler and Paladino Families (especially my beautiful old friend Kate, music teacher David, and landlord Allison) will accept my sincere and deepest condolences.

To me (as a friend of Victoria's younger sister and of her friends' younger siblings who she easily could have ignored, but never did) the most remarkable characteristic of Vickey was her unfailing way of making everyone feel welcome and at ease, surely a quality from which we all could learn.

Prayers and Peace be with you!

To The Paladino/Butler Family,

Though we were still teenagers the last time I saw Vicky, she was a breath of fresh air back then and by the comments I have read conninued to grow as a loving and wonderful woman. My condolences to the entire family

Ann,
Renate and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of the lovely Vicky and Jimmy. In those times we were able to return to Florida for family get togethers we always marveled at how Vicky grew into such a vivacious and caring young lady. We have such fond memories of her and extend our sincere condolences.
We pray for you to have the strength, faith and courage to get through this most stressful time.

I have fond memories of us cousins growing up together. Fishing, swimming and just goofing around the dock while Snoozy was out on fishing trips were treats for our gang. The passing of Jimmy closes those chapters in the book of life but does not erase the previous good memories.

God bless you and all who knew and cared for Vicky and Jimmy.

My thoughts and prayers are w/ the Butler family and the Paladino family. I am very sorry about your loss. I remember Vicky from the times I spent hanging out w/ Katie on Clarke Rd. as a kid. I didn't interact much w/ Vicky since I was her little sister's friend. and I'm sure that would have been an "uncool" thing for her to do, but I do remember how absolutely beautiful I thought she was and the peaceful energy she had. I'm sorry I did not have an opportunity to interact w/ her later in life, my mom and dad, Claude and Erika did and always said really wonderful things about Vicky.
Again, my thoughts and prayers are w/ the family, particularly Katie, Richard and Nickki
Also the Bikram WPB yoga community and Karen Drost send their thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Ana, John Henry, David Jr, father David; Katie, Marybeth and Mrs Ann Butler: I am deeply sorry for your loss. In knowing Vicky we have all been blessed in our own unique ways. She was such a gentle loving soul; a friend to anyone in need; and an inspiration to those who saw her clearly and without judgment. Friends are angels here on earth and Victoria was one indeed. May her luminous self shine on in the memories of those who love her ~ and of course in the fullness of the moon. I will always be reminded of our beloved Moonbeam while looking at the sky at night. I hope to honor her memory by reminding myself of some of the simple truths she espoused and validated in my too brief experiences with her. Vicky you live on in the hearts of those who love you. May your precious family find peace and strength in one another.

We're sorry for the loss of such an amazing person. Whenever we came over as friends of John, we were always greeted with the warmth and smiling face of his mother. We'll always remember all of her various trinkets around the home that characterized her diverse nature. Her kindness and hospitality will be sorely missed.

With support and love,

Dear David, David Jr., John Henry, and Anna, my heart goes out to you always. Vikki was one of my best friends and we were very tight, so much so that I had the honor of watching the birth of 2 of the children, (David Jr. you were a newborn when we first met)
Thank you Vic, very precious memories for me:) Vikki was always there for me, I know we taught each other a lot. Vikki was a GREAT friend; the most beautiful wild flower I ever saw.
She was so beautiful, loving, creative and generous to the core. Through long walks along the shore of the Reef Rd. /Palm Beach Cove collecting shells, and with her art she taught me more about beauty and love than I thought I already knew. We had so much fun just being together, and I can hear her roaring laughter every moment I think of her! I will forever treasure the memories of great times with the Butler & Paladino family, and truly I will miss her more than words can say. I am deeply saddened by her passing but comforted by the truth that she is in a far greater place right now and someday we will meet again. Forty or so years ago, the Butlers were my wonderful neighbors, three doors down from us on Clarke Avenue in Palm Beach. I remember Vicky as a lovely girl with the most peaceable nature. I remember the whole family being so beautiful and vibrant. And I remember those days like it was only yesterday.

Vicky, you will be missed, but not forgotten.

My love and condolences to a beautiful family,

John Glatthar

December 16, 2008

The other day Heidi started thinking of Vicky for no apparent reason and was moved to uncover from storage an old 1988 Christmas card from her just before we received the news of her passing (kinda spooky). The card was a vibrant photograph of Vicky, David II, and little David during much happier times. It is in this light that we know Vicky wanted us to remeber her. We will allways remeber Vicky, for her radiant smile and infectous positive perspective on all things. She was a beatiful, giving and loving soul that we feel priveledged to have once known. Our deepest sympathies to David, David, John Henry, Ana Paolina, and the rest of the Paladino and Butler family, as well as all who's heart she touched as she did ours.

December 16, 2008

Dear Paladinos and Butlers,

My memories of Victoria are of a shining, creative spirit, a flamboyant and amusing hostess, and a delighted and devoted mother, fiercely loyal in her attachments. The world seems to have lost some of its shimmer with her passing.

With deepest sympathy,

My dear, dear, Butlers and Paladinos -- we have lost a gorgeous human being; I'm so totally heartbroken I hardly know what to do. Vicky was such a lovely person -- I never heard her say a harsh word about anyone; always so generous and loving from the time she was just a little girl, a woman of empathy, just a dear, dear soul. I'm more sorry than I can say and I send you all my love.

HOLLY SPILLANE

December 15, 2008

Dear David, I was so sorry to hear from Leslie C. yesterday of this tragedy. Though our visits to your home were few, back when all of the kids were young, and Vicky was pregnant the last time at the pool party, I remember a very loving mom, wife and hostess who certainly made her family her most important world. I will remember Vicky that way and, as witnessed in all of these other sentiments, her three children can know that those traits in their mother touched all who knew her. Wishing you all strength to cope and the ability to accept. Holly Spillane and family
