Virginia Dufresne Obituary

Moultonborough, N.H. - Virginia I. Dufresne, 91, formerly of Uncasville, died peacefully in Laconia, N.H. on Sept. 9, 2016, with family by her side.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1924, in Upton, Mass. to the late George and Edythe (Darling) Sparkhawk.

She was united in marriage to Clarence W. Hayward who predeceased her in 1961. In 1965, she married Henry E. Dufresne who predeceased her in 1986.

Virginia enjoyed being with her family and being with friends at the Montville Senior Center where she was chorus director, and also played piano and organ.

Virginia is survived by her children, Cynthia DeGrumbia, Lynne Hayward, Ernest Dufresne, Carole Lynch, and Edward Dufresne, along with several grand and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Montville Funeral Home of Church & Allen, 53 Norwich-New London Tnpk., Uncasville. Burial will take place that afternoon at 1 p.m. at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, Conn. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, on Tuesday, Sept. 13.
