Vivian Dean Obituary

Vivian was born on May 20, 1927, in Waynesboro, Virginia, and passed away on August 12, 2022. She dedicated her life to her children’s well-being and happiness. Above all else in life, she was a giving and loving mother. Vivian had many life-long friends that preceded her in death, and many remaining friends and family that will miss her joyful nature. She loved to go to dances, take cruises, bowl, and have fun. She would occasionally tell hilarious jokes and impart fond memories from her past. She was employed at General Electric in Waynesboro, Virginia for 30 Years where she held many positions with increasing responsibilities.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Adaline (Golden) Zimmerman; father, Lee Edward Zimmerman; and brother, Lee Edward Zimmerman Jr.. She is survived by her daughter, Linda S. Dean and son Clifton Alvin “Butch Dean, Jr., both of Waynesboro, Virginia; two grandsons, Ashby Lee Dean of Waynesboro, and David Mack Cash of Knoxville, Tennessee; two special nieces, Francis “Twinkle Patterson of Lyndhurst, Va., and Donna Rannie of Lake Murray, South Carolina; along with several special friends including, Kitty Hamburger and LeAnne Harlow, both of Waynesboro, and Christopher Howard of Lynchburg, Virginia. I have known Mrs. Dean since grade school, she was a room mother when she didn´t have to work. Her wit , her smile and her love permeated the room when she was present. No doubt in anyone´s mind that she loved her children. She loved people and it showed. Linda and Butch we are so sorry for your loss but I know that at this moment Vivian is kicking butt and taking names in Heaven. I loved her dearly. Love Loretta Miller
