Ankeny
Wallace Edward Glaze of Ankeny, IA passed away of natural causes on November 9th, 2014 at the age of 88 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am, November 12, 2014 at Mill Pond Retirement Community, (1201 SE Mill Pond Court, Ankeny, IA 50021). Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ackley, IA at 2:00pm.
Wallace was the son of Roy and Rose (Kreimeyer) Glaze, he was born in Ackley, Iowa October 28, 1926 where he spent his entire life until he and his wife moved to Mill Pond Retirement Community in Ankeny in 2004. After graduating from Ackley High School, he entered the U.S. Army and served in W.W II in the European theater. He also served in the Korean Conflict. Wallace ran a successful electrical contracting business for 45 years. Hunting and fishing were his favorite hobbies.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel of 65 years and children, Susan (Ron) Roberts of Ankeny, IA, Steven (Kathleen) Glaze of Freeport, Il., Sandra Stewart of Ankeny, IA, Scott (Debbie) Glaze of North Wilksboro, NC, 13 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to Mill Pond Retirement Community, Ankeny, IA, the Ankeny United Church of Christ, Ankeny, IA, or the Ackley United Methodist Church, Ackley, IA.

Our thoughts go the entire Glaze family. We remember Wally and stopping by to talk to him on my paper route.Also the time Hazel & Wally invited us over for supper when my mother went to Texas for her mother's funeral.

Hazel, Susan, Steve, Sandy and Scott - Our sympathies to you on Wally's passing. Fond memories of growing up in Ackley along with you. I always find it comforting to remember good times. I will never forget your generosity in 1968 when my Dad (Peck) and I were invited for a turtle soup supper when my Mom (Thelma) had to go out of town unexpectedly. We were 'batching it' and sure appreciated a good meal. I'd never had turtle soup!
