Fr. Burke was one of the important influences on my life. He was my History instructor at SECHS in '43-44. He was assistant A.D. at SECHS when as a sophmore, I was the football team's manager. I'll never forget the speeding ticket he avoided on Oregon Ave,, while returning from a pre-season football scrimmage with Lower Merion H.S., and how he charmed the policeman from giving him a ticket. I visited him often at St. Norbert's while I served on Villanova's Board of Trustees in the 70's. He...
