Not sure what to say?

I would like to say Walter was an extraordinary person. He had a special gift to communicate with all types of people especially with young people. I felt he was like a second father to my children, influencing then in such a positive way through the Boy Scout Of America. My family and I love and respected Walter very much. Such a great loss to soon, we will miss you Walter Colbath. Our sincere condolences go out to the Colbath Familiy.

My high school friend and swim team buddy. You will be missed Wally! God Bless your family during this hard time. You are gone too soon! With love and many great memories, Sue & Rick Morgan

I have very fond memories of "working" (lifeguarding) with Wally at the NPBCC many years ago. I moved to Dallas in 1980 and regret not staying in touch. He would light up a room, was a fun-loving, trustworthy friend and never met a stranger. The world would be a much better place with more people like him. Prayers and condolences to his family.

Godspeed, Wally!

God Bless your family Walter. I remember your smile and friendliness in high school.

Wally was always Happy. He was a blast to work and hang with!!! I took my driver's test in his old Chevy Vega. He will be missed.

It was a pleasure to have known and worked with Walter. He had a perpetually up demeanor and a dedication to help those around him. He certainly will be missed.

So sorry, Kristan, to read about Wal's passing. We all had such fun times working together at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach and our many dinner parties with our husbands and bosses. I'll always remember Wal's sense of humor and easy going attitude. I know you'll miss him and so will Carl and I. Love to you and the boys.

Awesome person and always with a smile helping others. He will be missed

My sincere condolences to the family. Wally worked with me as a lifeguard when we were young at the NPBCC pool. My first wife and I stayed with him in CA on our honeymoon in 1975. He was one of the best people I have ever known. He was always happy to see you and lend a hand and never judged a very rare quality in these days. We had reconnected a couple of years ago on FB and knowing I still surfed he always sent my surfing videos from the web. He always did the little things that made...
