I had the pleasure of having Dr. Fung as my doctor since the 1970's, was so sorry when
he retired. I can honestly say that he saved my life, he had an ability to really listen to what his patients were saying. He was such a kind, caring, honest soul.
He will be so missed but I know if there is a heaven, he is surely there. Thank you Dr.Fung, you helped so many people, and will never be forgotten.

It was truly a pleasure having known Dr. Fung and working around him for over two decades. He was a very kind man who loved to mentor. He would often sit at lunch and offer help to clarify any questions that we may have regarding cases or general medical review. He also loved to challenge us with questions, but he had a way of not making us feel inferior. He made us feel comfortable to talk with him. I really appreciated him taking the time to explain something that I did not understand, and I learned so much from him. He was a very caring person, as well as an excellent physician who always gave his best. I will always smile when I think of him.

Dr Fung was a long-time doctor and friend to my in-laws, the whole Kwok family. He was always friendly, fun-loving, and generous & ALWAYS available for medical questions. I will remember his smiling face & his hugs for everyone. He knew I was a pharmacist & asked me to help out Tzu Chi with medications for the patients he saw at the free clinics. I thought it odd because he was a Christian working for a Buddhist organization, but he said "it's all good. It doesn't matter." The purpose was to help people who didn't have the means to help themselves. He was a wonderful person, father, friend. We will miss him.

I had the honor & privilege of working with Dr Fung for over 25 years. He was a man that I admired & respected. He was not only my employer, he was my friend. In his obituary it was written that he loved his patients & they loved him back. That could not be more true. Many of his patients he had, we had for more than 25 years! It was hard for the patients when he retired & it was especially hard for Pat & I. We truly love & respected him. He took care of us as if we were one of his own. When my own Dad passed away 12 years ago, Dr Fung called me & told me something that I will never forget. He said that the moment that my dad gave his last breath, he opened his eyes & saw the face of God. I know that this is true for my Dr Fung... He gave his last breath, opened his eyes & saw the face of God. We lost a wonderful man. Barbara, Mitchell, Marty & Megan, thank you for sharing him with so many of us. I know he is the arms in our Lord. Rest in peace, dear Dr

I met Dr Fung through volunteerism at Tzu Chi free clinic in 2001. We were the only two providers seeing adult patients for a long time. Dr Fung was always happy to serve the under served people. We always had a wonderful time working on the monthly Saturday clinic. Rain or shine he was there. When he missed one clinic, everyone worried. "Is Dr Fung ok" people would ask. His kindness would be missed forever.

My sympathies to Dr. Fung's family and friends. He became my doctor in 1963 when I was 7 years old. His kindness, sweet smile, and calm demeanor made visits to the doctor more tolerable as a child. After I married and had children, he was still my doctor because I loved him so much. He became a very special part of my family. We last spoke about 10 years ago and he still remembered me and my family. We have lost a great doctor, and a fabulous person. He's walking with our Lord Yahshua now. Rest in peace.

Dr. Fung Will be miss by our family. He was a wonderful Doctor and friend when he retired we were very sad and feel that if he was still had his practice open that three of our family members would have gotten proper medical care. He will deeply be missed by our family.
Our mom remembers seeing Walter when he was a young boy walking to school, because we all lived on the west side of Fresno. Then a few years later he became her doctor.

Dr Fung has been great doctor with full of compassion and care to his patient. He has volunteer with Tzu Chi since 2001 and has help a lot uninsured patients. We will miss him but will keep his spirit of care with us "see every patient come to us".

Our family is saddened to hear of Dr. Fung's passing. He was our families first doctor in Tarpey Village in the late 50's and 60's. My sister Elaine Rogers loved and respected him dearly. She has never been able to replace him since moving out of Fresno many years ago and she is now 75. May he be at peace with God who I am sure has welcomed him home with open arms. Dr. Fung was recommended to us when we moved to Fresno in 1963. We loved him and thought he was the best doctor ever. We were devastated when the company I worked for changed insurance companies to Kaiser and we had to give him up. He was not only a wonderful doctor, he was our friend. God bless his family.

Dr. Walter Fung:
He was a kind, caring, knowledgeable, accurate, lovable doctor, my doctor and friend for ten years. Many hours were spent interpreting Spanish to English and English to Spanish for Dr. Fung during the ten years I served with the TZU-CHI CLINIC in and around Fresno. But most of all I will remember him as a Man of God who loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served Him through his medical practice and his Church.
