Walter Sullivan Obituary
Mr. Sullivan, 89, of Charlotte, passed away August 29, 2011.
He was born in Pennsylvania to Leo and Mary Sullivan. Walter graduated from the seminary school of Mount Saint Mary located in Emmetsburg, MD in 1944. Walter was awarded a degree in Theology, with high honors, in May 1948 from the Catholic University of America, upon which he was ordained a priest. Walter served his parishioners for more than twenty years in various NC parishes including Whiteville, Burlington, Wake Forest, Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, North Wilkesboro, Henderson, Asheville and Charlotte. Walter served as a priest at St. Gabriel's in Charlotte from 1966 to 1970. He resided in Charlotte for the last forty years.
Walter was a kind and gentle man who was grateful for the love and care he received from the staff at Wilora Lake Healthcare Center.
