Thank you for writing God I´ve Gotta Talk to You. It was my favorite prayer book as a child and believe it or not, it´s simple prayers brought great peace into my adult life. May Rev. Walter rest in peace.

If is with great sadness that I read this obituary. I am, just this week, beginning to teach both my high school and college classes using The Book of the Dun Cow. It has been one of my absolute favorite novels for over 30 years and has a treasured place on my bookcase and in my heart. My deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones at this time. He will be remembered!

My heartfelt sympathy to Professor Wangerin´s family. Despite his numerous accomplishments and awards, family was always first along with his love of the Lord. The legacy posting seems so modest and small in light of all of the lives that Professor Wangerin touched and impacted. I had the privilege of knowing him as a student at VU and briefly as a patient.
