Walter Williams passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023.
He was born on September 20, 1928, in Montgomery, Alabama. A resident of Gary, Indiana for over 70 years. Happily married to Mamie B. Williams for 51 years. A former employee of Inland Steel for 39 years.
In 1978 Walter symbolized his dedication to Jehovah and as a Jehovah’s Witness. He served as a dedicated and loyal ministerial servant for many years. He was known for being generous, always willing to help others.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mamie B. Williams, daughter, Mamie Green, sons Walter Jr., Edwin, and Jerome Williams.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories 3 daughters, Mary Jenkins, Ophelia Williams, and Cora Taylor, 7 grandchildren, Tyress Williams, Robin Williams, Tia (Tremell Williamson), Karesha Plump, Marquetta Magee, Jasmine Wade any RayJean Williams, and 15 greatgrandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Walter will be greatly missed.

Hi Family, know that each of you are in my mind and my heart, I will miss Uncle Walter as I know he lived a wonderful life. Each of you our in my thoughts and prayers. I will always remember being over at the house when in town and having conversations with Uncle as he might have just got back from fishing or just working on something around the house. He is the last of Auntie and my Mama generation that I know of and am so thankful for him being a part of my life. Missy and family
